                                                            A DAY INTERVIEW WITH OLIJAY

REDIP: Hello viewer we are reaching you live from REDIP PRESS and today we have someone you would love to know, Ladiies and gentlemen give it up for OLIJAY aka General Jay.....
Waddup Olijay?

OLIJAY: Am cool, chilling and absolutely happy to be on this show today...

REDIP: it's our pleasure General....
Let's start this way,how did you come about the Nick "GeneralJay"?

OLIJAY: Ohhh that's the title of my new track...

REDIP: Am sure of that, but how did you come about the inspiration of the title?

OLIJAY: Uhmm when ever am with my team and we go on freestyles the pattern i rap with atimes is always aggressive so they started calling me  General  [lol]

REDIP: Wow, that sounds good, since when did you start music?

OLIJAY: I started music in 2009, right in high school.

REDIP: Did you just wake up to it?

OLIJAY: No I didn't, since when I was a kid I had passion for music and football. So my high school helped my moral. Though I started in a group of four but today am ME.

REDIP: Are you into any record signing or endorsement cause rumors came you are in a label.

OLIJAY: [lol] No am not, a lot of people say what they don't know, I didn't sign a record deal anywhere neither am I endorsed yet, all my music are made under my own expenses.

REDIP :You didn't release a single since 2013, not until this come-back track "General Jay" why?

OLIJAY: Let me say, it was never my wish, but I had issues then about my music production and a lot thought  my musical career was a-stake, but great thanks to God and my fans. I dedicate this track as a big  resurrection.

REDIP: Talking about this track "General Jay" how did you come about the inspiration?

OLIJAY: I was up for a battle at Dee Spring Studio, when I met Hadwon, it wasn't the way I thought but I found myself falling for his quality production so I jumped on the instrumental then I made a track... [lol]

REDIP: That sounds professional, but there is something not clear, before the release of the track, you were caught on videos performing the track at Lekki and some other shows of yours... Infact your social pages were full of it, was it your idea?

OLIJAY: Uhrrr, it wasn't suppose to be like that, but there was already a fixed date for the track release, so shows came in and my manager took me up for it, but the thing is fans were grinning real good...
So the team was left with no option and I felt the performances is helping the gospel.

REDIP: There is something confusing about your musical style, on this track "General Jay" you did rap but your debut single "D way she wyn" you were singing really good. What side do you fall???

OLIJAY: [lol] Well I feel music has really gone beyond that in Nigeria, to me as an upcoming artiste one mustn't just call his or herself a commercialist or a rapper alone. I love it when am wide and also a god of every genre, from reggae to Afro to rap and RnB, that's when you are an upcoming.

REDIP: Encouraging, with the way things are going in the industry, both internationally and locally which artiste would you want to be just like? Cause for me I feel age is still on your side.

OLIJAY: Talking about the industry today, most especially in Nigeria, things are going arduous which makes every big artistes wanna work harder. But for me to what I see so far, I wish to be nobody but ME. Though I see a lot of hard works but I feel what I have in me is more ameliorating.

REDIP: Wow! Man, I gat a couple of artiste that come to this show and want to be like Weezy, 2face and lot more, but I love your passion.

OLIJAY: We different... Am on your side. [lol]

REDIP: So tell us for the main time what's on ground for your music?

OLIJAY: After the track has been set, I have it on airplay for beat 99fm, I have it on top blogs too, all you have to do is search "Olijay-General Jay" on google and you're up.
I also have it on Etisalat and MTN platforms as Callertunez, you could follow me on IG, Facebook and twitter @OlijayHolla for more updates about everything.

REDIP: magnificent, so if you could tell us, how many hours do you do music?

OLIJAY; hours? For me I don't think music works like that, I do music only when the inspiration tips, am up for an interview here, I could get inspired here for a track no one knows, then from there music is set...
No time fam....

REDIP: Cool, Do you have anything in store for now or anything new coming?

OLIJAY: ohh yea, I have big plans on the way.. A lot would just have to sit back and watch, cause the next thing coming is mammoth.

REDIP: Oh really?

OLIJAY: Ohh yea [lol] I'did say for now it would be the biggest of my music career.

REDIP: Wow, let's get personal now.

OLIJAY: Ok

REDIP: In this music deal, what day has been your brightest day so far?

OLIJAY: Uhmmm... I think...[lol] The day I won the rap battle at Dee spring studio, the day I recorded with Hadwon and my performance at Lekki cause I was shocked for the love over there. Well I know more brighter days are still coming...

REDIP: Cool, let's talk about the bad days[lol]

OLIJAY: [lol] I don't feel bad to tell it cause am thankful.... It's a bygone.

I think it's the period I didn't get to showcase my talent for years, I always feel I might have cover a lot then, but due to some hindrance and  not knowing the right people then it caused my years of log-out. But still am thankful...

REDIP: Yea, OLIJAY thank you for giving your time on this show.

OLIJAY: It's my pleasure.

REDIP: Before going dash us some rap lines and make shout-outs.

OLIJAY:[Lol] Uhmmm okk.
